Oasis. Blur. Pulp. Suede. Elastica.

Britpop music has that quintessential British style, humour and sophistication (or rather lack of). One of Britain's best exports, Britpop and Indie music as a whole should be celebrated, and we're going to do just that.

Starting off with one of the big guns, we have Oasis Maybe performing live on March 31st. Setting their sights on sounding like the Britpop royalty in their 90's prime, Oasis Maybe are the next best thing to Noel and Liam themselves. Favourites of The Night Owl, their last gig was a sell out, and this event is looking to follow suit with people going mad for tickets!

Easter weekend is the perfect excuse for a party. We have a few tricks up our sleeve for April 1stwith April Fools Golda night of Britpop, Indie and 90's nostalgia. We'll be joined by Marquis Drive, a cover band that's as dedicated to the 90's today as they were in that era. As well as playing the coolest grooves from Madchester, Marquis Drive dabble in Ska, Mod, Soul and Northern, but keep it 100% British. DJ's Barnesy and Mazzy will playing Britpop and Indie classics all through the night to make sure you have a cracking Easter Sunday!

Night Owl regulars will already know about Come Together. This monthly night celebrates music for exactly what it is, no matter the genre or era. Our mix of retro guitar music from Soul, Northern, Ska, Mod, Britpop, Indie, Nu Wave, Rock & Roll (and many more) will be matched by none other than Scooby's Tosh. Another favourite of ours, this covers band smash their Britpop, Punk and Indie hits out to a huge crowd every time - they're raucous and dynamic, so they fit right in at The Night Owl! Come Together with Scooby's Tosh will be on Friday, April 6th, a date to mark in your diaries!

As brilliant as Britpop is, we have an endless amount of events that span genres. Keeping things on UK soil we have The Jam DRC (The Jam Tribute) on April 7th, 60's covers group The Quik Beats on April 21st and Amy Winehouse tribute Marina Coombes as part of the Lioness night on April 28th.

Finally, the event to end all squabbles, we have our own Battle of The Brits. On May 27th, tribute band Help! will be representing The Beatles and Get Stoned will be representing Rolling Stonesin a battle of the bands. Who will win? You decide! Children are welcome in the day to this event as we'll be hosting a family friendly BBQ. After 8pm there will be DJ's, visuals and cocktails for a night celebrating great British music.

An honourable mention...

Our neighbours Cafe Colette are new to Digbeth - a 1920's themed, art deco clad cocktail bar and venue that will quickly become your new favourite midweek venture. Every Thursday Cafe Colette hosts Colette's Sundown Club - DJ's play laid back hip hop, funk and disco whilst you can sip on prohibition style cocktails and enjoy street food from Digbeth Dining Club. On March 15th DJ Milo Sadler will join the club, alongside a cocktail residency from famous fine dining joint The Wilderness. Colette's Sundown Club kicks off from 4pm with free entry (£1 entry after 5:30pm) on Lower Trinity Street, Digbeth.

Don't forget for any of our events you can grab a ticket from The Ticket Sellers or keep up to date with our events on Facebook.
