A day that celebrates the triumphs and highlights the struggles of women over centuries of patriarchy and power. At The Night Owl, we think women are awesome, and want to shine a light on the talented and fierce females that will be playing here soon!
To celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th, New Street Records will be hosting POWER. bringing you gal-tastical music power from live acts DAME and Hadler, plus DJ's Y4S and Della & Laurel playing soul, funk, disco and house tunes all through the night.
Bring your dancing shoes on Saturday March 10th as we have our own Soul Girls night at Dig! Our infamous soul and retro club night will get a good old shake up from back to back DJ's Noble and Heath and Jemma Coffey. Noble and Heath are well known amongst the London DJ circuit, injecting a serious dose of soul into the underground soul scene as well as the big London clubs. One half of the DJ group Sonny and Spare, Jemma Coffey is a regular to The Night Owl and got the dance floor moving in the main room of The Big Birmingham Soul Night back in February.
We'll be flying the flag for females in the future with even more events, such as the electrifying, 80's inspired singer and guitarist MeMe Detroit on May 5th. However, in October we will be bringing a special treat all the way from San Diego! The Baby Bushka's are an eight piece all singing, all dancing Kate Bush tribute sure to transport you into another realm!
