A local art exhibition are giving away prizes, including two tickets to a Night Owl event of your choice, to raise money for charity.

Belles Petite is a local, contemporary artist, and the curator of the upcoming “Because of You” exhibition. Belles Petite’s artwork, will be available to purchase at the event in Zellig, Digbeth, with a percentage of earnings going towards Macmillan Cancer Trust.

“Because of You” will launch on Saturday 17th March, featuring live music from local musician Barnesy plus special guests, DJs, raffle and an auction, which will see proceeds going to the charity. Prizes include two Moseley Folk Festival tickets, two tickets to an event of your choice at The Night Owl, a short break on a Black Prince narrowboat worth £1,000, plus prizes from The Old Crown, Mockingbird cinema, Circus Mash and two limited edition Belles Petite prints.

Claire Griffiths, creator of Belles Petite, recently lost her mother after her six month battle with cancer. Claire was inspired by her mothers strength shown during her battle, she is looking to raise money for Macmillan who helped her mother during this difficult time.

“Because of You” will also be a time for people to share their stories and memories of loved ones, with a chance to write their own “because of you” message. Claire said:“I hope that as well as raising money and awareness my exhibition will reflect the love and strength that our loved ones have shown and given us and the legacy they leave in helping us to live our lives in their memory.” 

Macmillan Cancer Trust offer support and advice from diagnosis, treatment, finances, physiotherapy, coping and beyond. Claire recently hosted a charity event at the Prince of Wales in Moseley, which raised £700 for Macmillan through a raffle and donations. It is the hope that “Because of You” will be just as successful.
