Four years of great soul music...

Good people, great dancing and even better soul music. That's The Night Owl ethos, since we opened our doors in 2015 all the way to today.

Since opening our doors we've kept to our roots, staying independently ran and have grown alongside Digbeth to become the soul & retro nightclub, music venue and hang out spot you've all come to love! This July we hit our fourth birthday, and we can't wait to celebrate with you.

Through Friday 5th and Saturday 6th July we'll be celebrating our fourth birthday with live mod-punk, ska and soul music as well as all your favourite Night Owl DJs and a special celebrity guest!

Kicking things off on Friday, 5th July are The Chords. The London based band were one of the pile drivers of the mod revival scene in the 1970s and 80s, landing chart hits and receiving cult status for their mod-punk tracks. They're joined by the sharp and witty The Humdrum Express, plus DJs Dandy Randy, Ed Edwards and Steve Connelly playing a mix of rare soul cuts, rock and roll and more all the way until 4am!

We're continuing the celebrations way into Saturday, 6th July with two special guests from the legendary label Acid Jazz Records. Laville, the label's first male solo artist to be signed since Jamiroquai will be bringing his easygoing soulful tracks in the day, whilst our favourite Ska outfit The Ska 45's headline the night!

If that's not all, Acid Jazz founder and radio DJ Eddie Piller will be playing tracks from his own record label as well as under exposed mod and eclectic soul in the afternoon. Meanwhile, DJs Mazzy Snape, Lee Fisher, Sonny & Spare, Richard Bamber, Joel Webster & Richard Buckley spin the best in soul, rock and roll, funk, disco, mod and more well into the night.

We can't believe we've been filling Birmingham with great soul music for almost four years, here's to many more!

The Night Owl's 4th birthday part one kicks on on Friday, 5th July at 8pm, whilst part two takes place at 4pm on Saturday, 6th July. Tickets for each day, and discounted weekend tickets, are available from The Ticket Sellers now.

See you on the floor!

The Night Owl x
