Meet the Le Freak DJ’s: Lee Fisher

If you haven’t been to our infamous Le Freak, where have you been? This funky disco, soul and boogie night has dancers queueing around the block, itching to hear the best in 60’s, 70’s and 80’s music with a disco flair.

Le Freak wouldn’t be as roof-raising without our stellar DJ’s spinning into all hours of the night. Regular DJ Lee Fisher spoke to us about his DJ’ing beginnings and how he got into Le Freak.

Originally, Lee got on board with “HMS Acid House”, with this music steering him towards a career in DJ’ing: “It really opened my eyes to electronic music and influenced the way I developed into a producer also. It was a natural progression.” Three years ago Lee was invited to the Owl to help to launch a brand new disco party, Le Freak, and the rest is history

What keeps people addicted to Le Freak, coming back again and again, boils down to the crowd itself. Lee added: “Le Freak’s crowd is really fun loving, octane charged. They occasionally get out of control, but always in the party spirit!”

Le Freak doesn’t just end under the roof of The Night Owl, Lee reminded us of a disco showdown at Shambala Festival, with Le Freak taking over the Friday night at Botanical Disco, curated by The Night Owl and Shambala. Alongside a picturesque sunset and incredible energy from the festival crowd, the disco, funk and boogie soundtrack helped make this event at the top of Lee’s list.

If you’re a fan of the weird, the wonderful and the inventive, be sure not to miss Lee Fisher at the next Le Freak. Need a taste of what he spins? Check out this hidden gem of a track Lee picked: “Ask Me” by Carol Jiani.

Lee’s Record of Choice:
