Following the Government announcement on Monday we are delighted to welcome you all back for full capacity shows after a long and testing 18 months of closures, social distancing and Boris’s ever-changing guidelines! We have a whole line up of fantastic events and performances at both our Birmingham and Finsbury Park venues kicking off with LET’S DANCE on the Monday 19th July.

We can’t thank everyone enough for their patience and support during the pandemic as we adjusted and adapted to bring you the best events we could despite the circumstances. Not only this but we launched a whole new venue in Finsbury Park during a pandemic and the warm welcome it’s received has been wonderful. But now we’re back with full capacity shows once again. We couldn’t have done it without everyone who came along to our Saturday Sessions, themed brunches and socially distanced shows in both Birmingham and in London!

Kick off the return to full capacity with LET’S DANCE. Featuring DJ duos Joel & Buck and Duffy & Quigley playing the best soul, funk, disco, alternative & Night Owl party faves. Best of all.. WE CAN DANCE! Come and shake what your mama gave ya out on The Night Owl dance floor from 8 till late.

Chickenbone John & Harmonica Dave | Birmingham, Sandwell & Westside Jazz Festival 2021 – Thursday 22nd July (FREE ENTRY)

Chickenbone John, ‘The Godfather of the Cigar Box Guitar’, has become a huge favourite at the festival in recent years, with highly successful workshop/concerts demonstrating how to make and play 3-string cigar box guitars. He is joined by his regular associate, Harmonica Dave, in reviving the authentic sounds of early blues.

Die Das Der Club Night with Joe Talbot (IDLES) – Friday 23rd July

Joe Talbot, frontman of Mercury Prize nominees, IDLES is back at The Night Owl to spin some tunes. Alongside Joe, we’ll have Desperate Journalist’s Simon Drowner and DIE DAS DER DJs digging some alt-rock gems from their crates. We open the evening with a live performance from new local punkers, Hey Alamo.

Pulp’d are the World’s number 1 tribute to Pulp! An authentic and explosive tribute to one of the biggest acts of the Britpop era!

Dig? With DJs Andy Marshall & Ed Edwards – Saturday 24th July

Our weekly club night playing Northern Soul, Motown, Funk, Mod, Ska, Rock n Roll, Punk, Indie & Britpop – basically all the groovy music from 1950s to 1990s! Pulp’d gig ticket holders can stay for Dig? at no extra cost.

Le Freak: The Get Down – Friday 30th July

Le Freak is  back with a bang for a night of 70s & 80s – Disco vs Hip Hop special! Featuring DJs T-Bird, Joel Webster and Richard Buckley.

Lobster (Live)- Saturday 31st July

Lobster are a six-piece reggae and hip-hop influenced punk band from Birmingham. Ticket holders can stay for Dig? at no extra cost.

Dr Bird (Live) + DJs – Saturday 24th July

Dr Bird are back after a triumphant secret set at our test event (thanks guys!)

London Mod Soul Poppers Dr Bird have been on the scene for the last six years. During that time they have released their debut ‘Part of my Plan’ EP and a critically acclaimed sold-out album, ‘Bedtime Stories’; both on the Direct Records label.

We can’t wait to fully open our doors to you all for the return of full capacity live music and events as we know it. We do want to encourage safe practice so everyone has a great time, we respect it is your own choice as to whether masks are worn. There are still outside tables for people who want to pop by for a drink and still wish to distance themselves. Otherwise, let’s dance!
